you can try with regular sockets but you might need reverse torx sockets. it's just four bolts and the wiring, be careful though because there is an airbag in the seat.
take the door panel off and take a look, no harm in that. a couple screws hold the panel on and the slide the panel up and out and take a look. chances are it might be bad or something stuck.
I guess it all depends on what you wanna do with the truck. is it an everyday back and fourth to work, or do you plan on being more adventurous on the weekends...? That sums up everything...
several screws that hold the panel on, get those out and pull up on the panel to remove. most likely the cables broke. happened to me, saw it was a pain to do myself so brought it to a dealer... mucho dollars to fix.
what year Tahoe are you looking for? 2000-06 they had mostly front drivetrain problems. hubs go every 5 years or so. keep an eye on the 4x4(especially the front), other then that just routine, shocks, brakes and other basics. from 2007 on it's mostly electrical components that go, they switched...
2004 5.3L V8 4WD. 151,000 miles, exhaust leak(up towards header), front differential needs rebuild, and driver's seat broken. Still runs like a champ!!!
2004 Tahoe. Back rest broken on driver's seat. Right side vertical support. Any way to fix without replacing entire seat? If so, is it possible to remove back rest from rest of seat?
