Cruise Control - acceleration issue

1997, 2-door, Z/71, automatic. Activate the cruise control and the vehicle will slowly continue to gain speed. Press brake...doesn't stop. Ultimately have to put in neutral (5K on the TACH!!) and pull it over/shut it off.

Not a sticky cable (that I can tell), plus that wouldn't cause acceleration.

Any ideas?

Defective cruise control module I would suspect..... Or a bad Cruise On/Off/Accel/Coast switch...... Ohm it out.
