Hey everyone,

Brand new to the site and already have a few questions about lifting.

I to am looking at the Rancho 4" lift, but was wondering how it would look with the stock Z71 18" rims with 265/65/18 BFG All terrain T/A KO. I think total tire hieght is ~31.5". I may put on some KMC rockstars, but they would also be 18's

Do you think the tires will look way too small? 4" doesn't seem like too much lift, but you never know. I would prefer not having to put larger tires on her because I would most likely need to put in lower gears and reset the speedometer, and I don't want to do that. I'm looking for a modest lift with a good, aggressive stance.

31a would look a little to small on the 4 inch, and a little larger tires wouldn't cause you to change the gears and speedometer. And definately go with the Rockstars!!!!!!

On Your Knees Hoe

IT SEEMS ALL THE HOES IN HERE ARE ON THEIR KNEES. NOT A LOT OF 4X4 FANS HERE. TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION SIR, YOU CAN EASILY RUN 35X12.50S WITH A 6IN RANCHO KIT AND STILL HAVE EVERY BIT OF THE SILKY DRIVABILITY YOU HAD BEFORE.

Thx,

I will be ordering the 4" rancho lift soon. I still need to decide on gong with a 305/18 tire, or a 33" tire. I think the 305 is slightly taller (~.5"), but not by much.

I'm kinda afraid to put 35" on a truck that will see nothing but paved streets 99% of the time. I think the 4" lift with ~33" tire will give it a modest, aggressive look.

Now I need to decide on the right offset wheels to go with. I know very little in this department, so if anyone has any insight, it would be appreciated.

Do you think 305/65/18 with fit under a stock suspension Z71 (~33.7" x 12.2" tire) without problems? I think I may go with the wheels/tires first, before the lift.

I'm pretty sure that size will rub when turning. I know 32.7" (285/70/17) and 32.4" (285/55/20) rubs slightly with stock rim offset.

AWESOME! I love it! Ive been trying to decide between blacked out with 26s for my yukon or lifted and blacked out. Do the 35's stick out past the fenders? And is there any rub at all? How does it handle? Also I really like the taillights! Can you post a pic with the brake lights on.

Thanks

 This is exactly what I want to do when I get finally get my new Hoe'!! Yours is probably the sickest lifted 2007 I have seen so far!!!! Great job! And if you want an exhaust that isn't too loud/annoying but still get that V8 Rumble go with Magnaflow! Great job! :Chevy:

Razormaid,

That is the best tahoe I have seen. I love it. Go with the 4.56's if you need alot off the line but, you will sacrifice top end. On my 01 Yukon, I went with the 4.10's and it was perfect with 35's.

thanks for the props...

Crazydefense32 and ockevin: thanks for the tips, i'll look into Magnaflow and the 4.10

njyukon: the 35's stick out about 1 inch from stock fender in the rear and 3 inches in the front. Not ideal, but comes with the territory. The guy told me other lift kits would stick out further in the front. No rubbing problem but you need to make sure you address the wheel backspacing as recommended by the kit. The handle is as awesome as it looks. Here are pics of the tail light lit.

Cool Thanks for the info. Here in New jersey(in order to get through inspection) you cant have tires sticking out past the fenders, without having fender flares. Once it goes through inspection on the other hand, I can take them off. Also If I do that lift, I have to get an articulation test done, to make sure it doesn't roll over, if it passes once than im good for life. Taillights look Awesome. Thanks for the pics!

PS: Magnaflow is probably the best choice for an exhaust, in order to get a rumble, but not be too loud. Heres a site that has a good price on it. You have to search for the exhaust by part number. Its 16672. For some reason they only have the XL/Suburban listed.

Here's mine with 2" Tuff Country leveling kit with 285/55/20 BFGs on stock LTZ rims....

Updated this post with before and after pics of 1" rear coil spacers from SuspensionMaxx...

after-1.jpg

Do you have any other pics since your rear spacer? I did the the TRUXX 2.5" front and 1.5" rear today and it alooks like the front may sit a tad higher. I need to get the tires on next week and I'll post some pics up after that. All in all the truck seems to ride as it did before the lift.
