It is the same thing with cable, why do we have to pay for commercials with cable? Answer: Because people are greedy.

actually they advertise it now as "limited commercial radio" and with the popular channels expect long commercials like you say.

XM radio

I know you already know the answer, and you're just venting... but at least there are no annoying DJs on most of the channels.

Also, I think the channel name has a CM next to it if it has commercials.

I agree that the commercials suck. I used to listen to Mike & Mike on ESPN Radio, and I swear I could have quoted word for word that crappy sex toy commercials or Go to My PC commercials.

I had SIRIUS for a year before I got my XM in the Hoe, and honestly I liked it better. It had commercials, but it also had a better variety of actual "music" channels. XM has 22 sports talk channels. I love sports and all, but what the crap? 31 talk radio channels.

Too bad there's not a discounted subscription with all that crap left out.

Anyways... I digress.

You're right. The commercials suck, and they play them way too often.

I guess only a couple of the XM Channels I listen to have commercials. I'm mostly on Classical / Ambient ("New Age" - I hate that term) / Soundtrack / some rock. I do despise the commercials on the comedy stations though. I switch every time the come on, and will never patronize any of the advertisers on there, mainly just because they irritated me in the first place. :mad2: I'm surprised that XM can even sell the "air time" for the ads in the first place -- I can't believe the ads even work for the advertisers.

Naaaah. Thanks anyway. I just paid for 2 years of XM. I liked SIRIUS, but it got really poor reception in North Dallas where I spend most of my time. WAAAAAAY too many dead spots.

Thanks though!
