so i was thinkin about getting 8 to 10 inch wide rims but i am wondering a few things.

my goal is it have the wheels atleast parallel to the stock fender flares or slightly outside. i am just tired of my tahoe looking like a fatlady with small legs. right now i am completely stock with gf all terrains size 285/16/65 on stock rims. i believe. i will make sure tomorrow. now assuming what i said is correct.

1. will a 275 or 285 fit on a 10 inch rim?
2. will a ten inch rim 65-75/275-285 rub if i am stock height?
3. will 275-285 on a 10 inch rim widen my wheel base enough that the outside wall of the tire is atleast parallel with my fender flares?

i really needs yalls help so please help. i am being serious with my questions.

thanks

I would not run a 10" wide wheel on a stock tahoe. You will most likely have some issues with rubbing. I would just run an 8" wide and a 285 that would probably put is close to being even with the fender flares. The less backspacing that a wheel has the farther it would stick out so it is not all about how wide the wheel is.

Here is a look at a 285/55 R 18 on a 9" wide wheel. The overall diameter is very close to the stock 16" rims, but the tires are about to 12" wide.

It sounds like this is what you are talking about. The tires are out to the edge of the wheel flares. I just hate the "skinny tire look" and this did it for me.

If I hit a nasty chuck hole, I get a momentary rub on the outside sidewall. I plan on doing some blunt force messaging of the inside of the fender well. It is from the very top of the fender opening on the front. It won't take much to fix it. Other than that, no issues turning or rubbing

I'm lowered 2.5" so if you stay at stock height, no problems.
