that my friend is a HI/Low converter, they use those when people want to run subs but not pay for a new deck, it basically takes rear speaker feed signal filters is for an amp (only allowing the hi's and lows thro) then converets it to rca so u can run a amp. make sence? so the rca is the output to the amp then the otherside u hook up the rear speaker from the deck to, then it should also have a output to the speakers to it goes INLINE between the deck and the rear speakers...... hopefully that makes sense...?

If you're planning to connect an amp that doesn't have speaker-level inputs to a car stereo that doesn't have preamp outputs, you'll need a line output converter. The PowerLink II hooks to the speaker leads of your stereo and provides RCA preamp-level outputs, so you can run a patch cord (not included) to your stereo amp.

This works perfectly and its the only way to hook up a amp without speaker inputs to a stock receiver.

---got that off the website hope that helps.....

Not the only way, but its def. one way - when i first got my Kon i used an in-line convertor that was just wires.. you just hard wired it in... - and ran a ground too it - and then i had to run a ground loop isolator because it wasn't the best way of doing things.. - i could tap one of my factory speakers and the subs would jump ;)

I used to have one of those connected to my factory deck for my subs. Had them spliced into the rear speaker wires behind the deck. Now that I have sub rca out of my new deck, i just use rca.
