Hi,

I'm in the market for a Tahoe again. And found this one:

It's really in very good condition and I'm tempted to pull the trigger. Three questions, though:

1. It's got 112K miles on the ODO. Is that a lot (if - as this one - in good cond)? Should I expect major repairs (e.g. gearbox, transfer case) to be due soon?

2. The dealer states it's a 2003 Z71, but I'm not sure. As far as I know, the Z71 does not have chrome bumpers, and does have tube steps in stead of boards. The rail, though, is a Z71 type. (What else differs btwn LT and Z71? Suspension, drive train, ...?)

3. Rear interior is in some kind of tan colour, whereas the rest of the indoor panels are grey (see pic below). Is that an original option?

VIN no is: 1GNEK13TX3J121779

Anyone give me a hint if this is really a Z71, a LT or what?

TIA

Peter

Very unusual for the early 2000 model Z71's to have a third row? That color is more in line with an LT model too.

Z71 has a completely different front bumper and fog lights.
Interior on that year Z in no different than LTs.

Running boards on that are LT model.

minor suspension difference with the Z (i believe)

and if it aint 4wd then you really know what it is.

i would say that is not a Z71...if it was then id ask why the bumper was changed.

*it does have a Z71 roof rack

That mileage isnt too crazy if it helps with the final price. i have seen those model trucks do close to 200k.
Regular maintenance and some here and there type stuff. keep an eye on the tranny. dont drive it like a teenager.

Also, the door mirrors are not painted. Z71 door mirrors would be color keyed to exterior paint. Just like, as stated above, the bumpers and front grill are not color keyed either. There would also be plastic molding on the lower rear side of the wheel well that is distinctive to the Z71. The only thing Z71 here is the roof rack.

And finally, the showroom is clearly NOT in an English speaking country.
