The truck started running a little funny and was showing a ses light. I had no choice but take it to the dealer and they called with a $1300 quote!! I got them down to $975 but I still feel like I took it in the rear. Is this a common problems with the Tahoe? I have 105,000 pampered miles on this thing..

What year is your truck? I installed some magnaflows on my limited and they were way cheaper. Took about 1hr in my driveway and they made a huge difference in power. I got them for a hell of a deal since we carry them at work but they are $300 online

Dealer might charge you an hour to install them, unless you have to buy new o2 sensors that should be all you need and it will open up the truck especially the top end.

Thats a nice product and I agree its a great add-on to any car/suv. Highflow cats compliment a better flowing exhaust system and in my book, are pretty much a no brainer when adding an exhaust system.

Sounds like it's time for cats, my denali throws efficiency threshold codes every once and awhile but I'm trying to dump all my money into the a/v and not magnaflows. I'm deleting the rear o2s with my tune, its just cheaper to shell them out and gain some power then piss away $300 on cats when I'm trying to turbo it.

I have my sights on the connector pipe+cats combo that Boostaholic recommends. I believe that the one posted in the above picture is the 23453 from Magnaflow.
At Summit, I saw them for 285$ or so, and they have to come via freight carrier for 89$ becuase they are "oversized" I thought that was a bit over the top, but it is what it is, I guess.

Fitting the 2 door though? I think you might have to check the Magnaflow or Summit application guide.

So if your looking about $350 for these cats. Do you just look for a dual outlet exhaust for the rest of the pipes? Which cheapest is roughly another $300. That sound about right? Total for the cats above and the rest of the pipes about $650? I was just going to do a cat back exhaust but making it into duals like this would be a great increase

You can get a dual in muffler with single or dual out. If you want to get totally bada$$, you could get 2 seperate single mufflers staggered (so they both fit) each having its own out. Your muffler man could make this setup for you.

Flowmaster super 40 or Super 44 would be the muffler of choice. (for me anyway)

Well 1st...Unfortunately Not unless you've got a leak somewhere (then yes). Removing the cat would actually improve gas mileage. Basically what catalytic Converters do is remove/break down toxic emissions from your engine. They remove oxidations and break down Nitrogen oxides. Regardless, its a proven fact they have an adverse effect on gas mileage (I'm not saying I care. I likes Quiet. :shhh: ).

Secondly. 12.5MPG? You do realize the EPA estimate is 13MPG, Right? :sla:
If you're really concerned about that 12.5MPG, Most gas-mileage deficiancies can be traced back to a lack of basic maintanence. Perhaps you should pop that hood and give that 350 a good flogging. BY which I Mean, Clean or get a New (or K&n drop-in) Air FIlter, Oil + Filter CHange, + Flush out your fuel system (if necessary).

I'm not really saying I'm that concerned because I haven't really heard what other people are getting. I thought estimates were 13-17. But anyway, all of that stuff you mentioned is clean. I was going to think about maybe getting some cleaner and dump that in the gas to clean my engine out a little bit but haven't looked into it yet so I don't know what I'm going to do.
