Good day all. Searched around for a bit and couldn't really find an answer to my questions. So here's to hoping someone can help me out! :happy160:

So I purchased my 1997 Tahoe LT in October, and with summer rapidly approaching, I decided it was time to get my air conditioner in working order. A quick evac and recharge of the freon and a new low pressure switch and she's blowing cold now.

But I can't help but feel like the air pressure blowing out of the vents is super weak, even on the highest speed. I pulled my glovebox out and took apart the fan and blower and cleaned a lot of crap out of there, but didn't really seem to do much for me. Like I said, the air coming out of the vents is cold, it's just not coming out very strong.

Any insight in to the situation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Does the fan speed sound right meaning do you actually hear the fan speed increase with the settings... also might want to check if it has a restricted cabin filter

Yes, I can hear the fan changing speeds, and on the highest level it definitely sounds like it's on high.

It's my understanding that this year (1997) wasn't equipped with a CAF. Cruising around the net, it looks like the general consensus is that GM didn't start putting them in the Tahoe's until 2000. But someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Cabin air filter is N/A, your AC Evap core is probably covered with junk and crud.... May have to disassemble some and clean it off, vac it off, wash it off...... they make a cleaner for this project also....
