The windshield washer system randomly comes on without me pressing anything. I have to pull over and turn the truck off because toggling the turn signal-mounted switch doesn't turn it off. Then when I go to use it, the system doesn't work.

The first time it did this, the heated wiper switch wasn't even hooked up. The new harness was not installed, old one removed, the switch didn't function. They installed the harness and it's still doing it. I'm not pressing the heated wiper switch by accident, nothing is bumping it, as I said it was doing it before the switch was even hooked up. The fluid that comes out isn't heated anyway, so if it were the heated switch being turned on the fluid would at least come out hot.

Does anyone know what this would be? I saw someone else had the problem but he never posted that it was fixed, or even posts here anymore. The dealership has had my truck for two days and can't get it to happen again but it did it the other night when we picked it up from them (After it was "Fixed") and has happened a total of nine times already, sometimes one after the other.

What's up fellow Chicagoan.
I think you should take it to the dealer, should still be under warranty right? Besides if they can't find it, they need to start replacing parts...one at a time!

Yeah it's been there, they're about to send it back home with me for the second time because they can't get it to happen. The first time I took it in, they replaced the washer pump. I don't know why, if anything that was the one thing that was working. I was hoping to find someone that had it happen and already went through the mess of finding out what the heck is wrong, the dealership won't do anything until they can see it happen in front of them unless I can give them a good lead so we're not shooting in the dark.

I believe GM LAN bus collisions are causing this problem. It has happened intermittently to my 07 Tahoe as well. A couple of weeks ago, the button flashed very quickly, and nothing happened. The next day, the heated washer worked fine. I've had them come on by themselves, and I've also had the cruise control (which was on) accelerate when I hit the heated washer button. My dealer could find nothing wrong or any codes, which is what I expected.
