2011 Tahoe LTZ, 11,000 miles
Today I opened my rear hatch using the key remote to get my crutches out (bad back), as I was reaching in I heard a loud snapping noise and the rear hatch came down on my back, pinning me in between the rear door and rear bumper.
I was able to push the door up enough to slide out barely. And of course my back is totalled now. I took the vehicle immediately to the dealership. The service manager tried and same thing happened except he wasnt under the door reaching in. He quickly found the problem, THE FRIGGIN STRUTS HAD FAILED, after 11,000 miles dropping the door down. They replaced them immediately, and had me out the door in less than an hour.
Yes I wish someone would drop a nuke on GM and I kick myself in the pants for buying this $62,000 POS, however short of that I want to warn as many Tahoe owners about the potiential life threatening event this could cause to a child, animal, or elderly person (I'm 63).
You are warned!!!
