Volant Intake front opening

I got the volant intake today and there is an opening in the front pointing toward the grill/headlight. I see a piece of rubber installed on the car right where that opening is. I cut a piece of it to allow the opening of the intake to get air from the grill area. Should I be worried about water going in there?

I have the Volant too. I see the rubber piece you are talking about, and could see rain water getting past it depending on where you cut it. I have the lower air tube that breathes from the tow hook area. I have gotten water in there from this lower location. For that scenario, water did not get past the filter, but it is still a concern of mine. Best option is to keep an eye on it when it rains to see where you are at. good luck.
