Has anyone used a GMAC card while purchasing? If so, when is best time to bring it up..I assume after you agree on a price when financing?

I have used my GM card rebates if that is what you are asking about on several vehicles. I usually tell the salesman when he is finalizing the paper work before they hand it off to the finance person. Really don't think it makes any difference to them when it is brought up.

Both times that I have used mine I don't even mention it until the negotiation is finished, then bring it up with the finance department. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I didn't want to take the chance. This also goes for the "returning customer" coupons that I've received.

My wife and I have used our GM card twice, with two different Chevrolet dealers. Both times we agreed on a final sales price and then told them about the GM card and it didn't cause a problem at all.

Just a note. If you are on S-plan pricing, you cannot use the GM card savings. This happened to me when I purchased mine. But the difference between invoice, and S-plan was only a few hundred dollars, and my GM card savings were several thousand dollars, so I took the invoice price and wrote it up as a normal sale.

I have the old GM card and was able to use all my card earnings on my purchases before the new GM plan went into effect. Wife's newer card would only allow $1000 earnings to be used on the vehicle. With new GM plan not sure what allowable earnings are.

The dealer doesn't care, they get reimbursed from somewhere in GM. When you tell them you want to use your card points they call a number and confirm the balance. They will have you sign something that says that they are applying your points to your purcshase. That's all there is to it. I have done this three times with no problems at all.
