Transponder Key???

I was just wondering if my key for my hoe was a transponder key or not. It's a 1997 4x4 LS? How could I tell? I need to purchase a new key because I lost my spare. Thanks

i know my 1996 does not,don't know bout a 97 model

You do not need a transponder key in a 1997.
