I have 60k miles on my 2010 Tahoe and was looking at its first transmission fluid change. I wanted to know if I can pump out enough thru the dip stick to make it a decent fluid change. Due to time it takes, I don't want to do the "drop pan" technique but also don't want to waste my time if doing it thru the dipstick wont get enough out. Also, I know I wont be able to change the tranny filter - is that a big deal? Thanks. Rick

I It can be done if you want. It's your truck . up to you. I would try and change the filter if possible. But I don't see any reason swapping some dirty fluid for new fluid would be a problem at that mileage. If the fluid is black and smells Burnt just top it off and leave it alone. Otherwise if trans operation is normal fluid is still reddish and this is just preventive maintenance go for it
