Transfer Case 2004 Z71

I am looking into buying an '04 Tahoe Z71, but someone told me to be aware of transfer cases on these vehicles. Are those a known problem w/ Tahoe''s? Any and all advice would be appreciated.

not really a problem with the tcase, they usually outlast the truck unless theyre abused. but the encoder motor on the tcase is a common issue, usually an easy fix, you can pick up the switch for the emotor for about $100, and can swap it out with a socket and a torx bit. if there is a problem with the encoder motor itll throw a c0327 or a P0327, thats when u replace the switch. The switch in the dash is a common problem also
