I just bought a 99 Tahoe 2wd today. It shifts great going thru the gears but it doesn't go into O/D. Is there a sensor that can cause this or do I need to rebuild the tranny. Has anyone on here had the same problem and if so what was the needed repair?
Thanks for the help.

Brake switch can cause this (well lockup in OD anyway)... bad range switch on trans can cause this, PCM issue can cause this. Have you manually upshifted through all the gears? In third gear (gearshift there) going down the highway that is empty/ low traffic while still foot keeping speed, use other foot to tap brake and see if RPMs rise.
