I started putting in a Hayden tranny cooler on my 2008 Yukon with a 4L60E and ran into some questions and concerns.
1. I already made one mistake... I unscrewed the nut holding the OE trans cooler line into the radiator (the lower line) and when I did, antifreeze drained from the system. I realized after I did it that the line is a quick release and I didn't need to remove the actual nut in the radiator. Did I do damage since antifreeze came out?
2. After trying to find someplace online to confirm the lower line is the "return" line, I'm not sure it is. I can't find anything definitive saying the lower line is the return line on my truck. I want to plumb the external cooler thru the return line. Hopefully someone can answer this important question.
So those are my two questions... Did the fact that antifreeze came out of the radiator (rather than just trans fluid) when I removed the nut on the tranny cooler line indicate I did damage and which line on the radiator is the return line?
Thank you for any help you can give me!!
