When I start driving from a stop or at slow speed, my "traction active" comes up on the odometer display and will barely go no matter how much I press the gas pedal. It will eventually turn off and go as normal or if I immediately hit the brake it will turn off and it will go. I turned of the stability control button and I haven't noticed anything when I do that. Is the problem some type of sensor?

same problem

just picked up a 2005 Tahoe AWD and experienced same problem with 'traction active'. did more digging and it appears to be an issue with the speed sensors in the front wheels. will let you know if I learn any more.

I had the same problem with mine. I pulled the sensors and cleaned them and the problem went away.....
