Hey all,

I put new wheels/tires on my 2008 Suburban, (Just think of it as a big fat Tahoe) and of course the new 285/65r18's are rated to 80psi where the factory tires were rated to 30. I run the new Terra's at 52 psi, which of course puts them out of the thresh hold of the TPMS system.

I'm not having much luck finding a dealership in the area (Austin, TX) to reprogram the TPMS system. The ONE I found who is checking with GM claims $350.00 and they need the truck for the day. (I haven't gotten this verified yet) Everything else I've gotten is from "can't be done" to "we won't touch it."

Is there anyone out there who's found someone in Central Texas willing to do it? Shop? Dealer? A tech II tech?

Thanks,
Bob

I've not found anyone that will reprogram TPMS. If I found someone to do that I'd pay them to just get rid of the system. I don't have much positive to say about it.

yeah most people won't change the settings or delete them since it's a specific (government) requirement. If a GM dealers is willing to change the setting, I'm told the heavily note it on the VIN records so if anything happens they can't be held liable

I'd be happy with their "heavy notations" as long as TPMS was gone. Note all you want just take it away please!
