Planning to purchase a new Trailex aluminum car trailer in the very near future and looking into adjustable ball mounts. The two obvious brands that I've heard are B&W (Tow & Stow) and Rapid Hitch.
I'm trying to determine the amount of drop I need and wanted to get an idea of what others are using. I have an 08 Tahoe LTZ with autoride and I measured the top of the receiver from ground to be around 25". Based on the trailer dimensions it looks like around 19" to the top of the ball from ground is necessary to keep it level. With a 6" difference between those two heights, I estimate that I'll need an additional 2-3" to account for the hitch ball which puts me around a 8-9" drop.
What kind of drops are other people using with their 07-10 Tahoes? Can any of you towing guys shed any light on this? TIA.
