how many of you drive day to day with the tow/haul mode engaged? Is there any benefit to using it even though you are not towing? Or on the other end, can it cause damage by using it all the time?

i would not reccommend it. makes the engine work harder than it needs to. if you want different shift points, buy a programmer.

I use tow/haul on the duramax all the time, when I'm towing. I don't really like the way it shifts on my denali even with a 3000lb enclosed trailer, just keep an eye on the trans temp or get a custom tune.

The shift points are raised, line pressure is raised, and the trans will not go into OD under 55 mph.

thanks for the input, I don't drive with it on, but was just wondering. I also have the PPIII, so I already have the higher shift points. I don't know however when I programmed the tahoe, does the hypertech also redo stuff for the tow/haul mode or does it stay the same?
