only rubs when front end compressed and full lock or when I had 60 8x8x16" concrete bricks in the back!

you had the BFG's on there right?

what was your opinion of the handling in rain/snow? I've read some good reviews....and some really bad ones

and I'm a little shy about shelling out 1500 bones for a wheel set up that may only last a year and a half

AT/KO's, good handling for my driving style although if you want to go fast in heavy rain they may hydroplane if you hit deep/long puddle at speed - they won't shed water as fast as a wet weather tire. They are rated for snow and ice, and in Portlands recent "blizzard" they worked fine. OK grip on black ice if carefull (but would be better if studded) but not as good as a Blizzack etc

They are (as all tires are) a compromise. But as All Terrain's go, best I've used. If you plan on more specialised use - like ice, mud, rock, sand etc then get a tire designed for that use...
