I'm thinking about lowering my LTZ and I just had new 22's put on. They recommended 305/45/22 size tires so I went with that. I'm not sure if a "40" would be much smaller but anyway...

I'm thinking of putting the ground force kit on it and I read here and there that the tires could rub ??? I'm looking at the tahoe and it seems like it would need to drop 3-4 inches in the front to even come close to rubbing.

Any suggestions or info is appreciated.

I have 305/45/22's and you will rub badly. I attempted to put a 2" drop springs in the rear to level it out and it rubbed at every little dip on the street. Took them off and put the stockers back on 20 minutes later. 305/40/22 is the way to go if your planning on any kind of drop. Good luck...

The 40s are exactly an inch shorter than the 45s. Doesn't seem like a lot of difference. I mean, if you rubbed at every little dip with 45s it seems with 40s it will still rub on occasion.

anyone else here have this size tire (40) and lowered it?

I know a lot of people on here have 305/40/22 and 305/35/24 lowered 2/3 and 3/5. An inch may not seem like a lot but it is when it comes to lowering. I'm sure some people will chime in.
