I just put 24" rims and tires on my 2012 tahoe lt, and they make a humming noise that gets louder as the speed increases. Anyone on here heard of this before or have this problem before?

Humming Noise

When you installed the rims where the rims and tires brand new?

It sounds to me like you either need to bring the rims back and make sure that they are balanced properly or that you need an alignment.

It could be some other issues as well. But I would think with year truck and that you didnt notice the sound until you put the rims on that it would be one of the two above mentioned items..

Good Luck

when you upgrade wheel and tire size. things like that are normal. you will need an alignment obviously, but with a lower profile tire you will feel more bumps in the road than normal and the tire sound will probably be a normal thing also

One thing nobody has discussed, is tire tread design. If you have a tire with an aggresive tread design like mud/snow or all terrain type tires, or a wider tire with more contact area on the pavement, you can expect to get more road noise than you are used to. just other idea to toss around.
