Tahoe with a 5.3. Had a continuous ticking noise from the passenger side. Took valve cover off and found a rocker arm with no tension on it from push rod. Rocker arm bolt was tight. Upon taking rocker arm off small Metal shaving were noticed where oil hole is on push rod. Ofcourse rocker arm and push rod were wore. Figured collapsed lifter??? Tried to free it by spraying 2+2 in lifter. Did not work. Questions: is it the lifter? I know I have to take heads off to fix it but what else can I try before doing that? Also if I take the heads off a parts list for putting them back on. Should I check that valve? Where did metal come from? Sorry lots of question in my head right now.
