I have a 93 Yukon with 125K miles, great shape. After I shut the engine down and pull the key there is a loud rythmic ticking noise beneath the dash near the heater/ac fan(?) that last for about 10-15 seconds: it is starting to do this when I first insert the key for start up now too. What the heck is this very annoying ticking sound? p.s. if I listen close I can hear a fan motor running while the ticking is going on. Thanks for ANY help.

You may have answered the question already. I would make an educated guess it's the blower motor winding down and powering up when starting vehicle. I believe the fan still turns ever so slightly even without heat or AC on.
