Ok so i went to install a aftermarket radio today on a 02 LS without bose and onstar, and so crutchfield said the harness was right but its actualyl wrong b.c the after market headunit fired up and everything but the speakers didnt work and wat not. so i went to a buddies house to try to hard wire so we were checking it out and just hooked up the constant, ground and switch and it didnt work and i guess my lights didnt turn on either (usually auto) i was thought that was odd. i go to touch the green (right/rear+) to the other green on the harness that crutchfield gave me and my lights and dash all turned on, and when i say dash i mean the actually computer part. so i was freaked out and put the stock back in and it still doesnt work now. i dont no wat to do i took off the negative and tried resettings but nothing has worked??? all the lights work but the radio wont turn on in working order the transmission cpu part wont turn on, guages, security light wont on. its realy weird and no fuses blew.

btw, i messing with it today, and i check all the ignition fuses and such and all were fine, but when i hooked up the crutch field harness i put the constant and the switched together and the A/C came on and the guages and milage cpu. what is wrong??? is it serious tho???

Do you have the part number on the harness Crutchfield sent you?

i can get it. but for now im really worried about this b.c when i hookup the radio the guages dont work and like the security doesnt work the gear selector doesnt work on the dash. idk what to do. but the harness is for a 02 ls no bose no onstar

Sounds like you could have caused a BCM & ECM problem. May have to be reprogrammed by dealer so that the both of them communicate with each other. I went through a similar issue recently with my '08.

i think that might be it, what were were worried about was frying something cause when i tried just hooking the ground, constant and switch it wouldnt work but when the constant and switch touched each other it did but we knew it would blow a fuse first before the BCM or ECM. i think it needs a reprogramming but for the main part i need a wiring harness for it and everyone says it should work when it doesnt. i guess chevy dealer can help me out???
