Okay the weirdest thing happened with my new 08 Hoe. Only 13 days after I got it:
I tried to remote start the truck and it wouldn't turn on. Then tried to turn the ignition and it wouldn't start either. Everything eletrical was working fine though. For some odd reason I just tried to release the parking brake which wasn't applied anyway. As I turned the ignition and had ahold of the brake release handle the truck turned on with a lag. As soon as I let the handle go all my gauges went down. (i.e. would show an empty tank of gas). My transmission display would not show what gear it was in. Plus I was getting maintenance msgs for the suspension and stability control. I turned off the truck again and this time applied the parking brake. It turned on with a lag (again) and as soon as I released the parking brake all the gauges and warning lights etc (again). I held the brake handle up so I could see what gear I was in. I put it in drive and there definetly was something going on as I kept getting a thump in the trans as I would go forward. So basically the truck wouldn't even turn on unless the parking brake was applied or I if I had the release handle in the "up" position.
Next morning I take it in. Turns out a wire that connects to the parking brake was shorted out because the harness for electrical wires was not located properly. Over the time I had the truck (13 days) the wire was beginning to short out and drain the battery. So they replaced the wire, relocated the harness, and put in a brand new battery.
Since I've been accustomed to driving a 02 Hoe for 5 years I didn't realize the change in the ignition turning on from one day to the next with my new truck. I honestly thought it had a small lil .5 sec lag to it. So with a happy ending, I notice my truck driving even smoother than before. I think the wire was messing with the stability control electricity. If anyone has a new truck with the computer acting crazy, chances are there's a bad wire somewhere causing everything else to screw up.
