I have a 2003 Tahoe which I have owned for quite sometime now. I was installing and audio aux two days ago so I would be able to play my ipod through the radio. After installation, I put everything back together but when I went to start the truck, she would shut down shortly after. At first, I had thought it was the battery but when I had her jump started, I would come to the same problem. I let the truck sit overnight then gave it a full charge and unlocked it with the remote. The truck started up perfectly fine so I shut her off for the rest of the day. When I went to go take her out that night, I ran into the same exact problem as earlier. Now the remote is no longer working even with a full battery charge.
I am quite sure that this has to do with some sort of security system which has a fuel cut, or starter disable. I am not familiar with the truck or the security system, so I was wondering if there was some type of reset to the system. I have called many dealers already and only two were able to provide me with some help. One said that a reset button was located in the fuse box but when I checked I could not find anything. I have searched through the forum already and I havent found anything quite like this problem. The truck was running perfectly fine prior to this mishap so I am hopping this is an easy fix. I do not want to bring this to the dealership, so any help would be much appreciated.
Again, I am almost 100% sure this is a security issue. If anyone can tell me where I would be able to locate a reset button or even reset the whole vehicle entirely, that would be great. Thanks in advance for your help.
