Hello, I have a '99 Tahoe, two door, four wheel drive, it has 150,000 miles on it, and runs great. I have recently had new spark plugs and wires installed as well as the distributor cap. There is a slight problem that is giving me some concerns. At take off it has a shudder, which is very noticeable. It only occurs when I have come to a complete stop and begins shuddering as soon as I take off. The shudder diminishes after about 8 seconds. It is also slightly more sluggish traveling up hills than I believe it should be. It has a brand new transfer case, that was put in March of last year, if that could have anything at all to do with it. I hope you can help, and I appreciate any response or feedback you can give!

I took it to the transmission shop, and they said it was the differential, so I have an appointment Tuesday to get an estimate at Christian brothers.

Exact same thing happened to my 1998 2dr. Mine doesn't last 8seconds tho more like 3-4 sec. Fresh tune up did help for a few days but then it came back. Please fill us in when you get the verdict. :smiley-face-popcorn

I took it to my local 4x4 shop and they took one look at it and told me exactly what it was. It's a condition called Axle Wrap, it's little the axle attempting to roll over. He said the reason was the fact that my lift includes blocks. Traction bars can eliminate axle wrap and getting rid of the blocks and simply using 6 inch springs can fix it as well. It results in an unwanted pinion angle and can wallow out the bushing in the tail end of the transfer case because of the up and down motion of the driveshaft, he didn't say it needed to be addressed right away, but did act like it could be pressing if it wallows out the seal in the transfer case and it begins leaking. Sorry for the late response, I've had my Tahoe all over hells half acre getting different opinions from people that didn't know what they were talking about, my suggestion is always to take lifted vehicles to speciality shops.
