Thx Bladen..but im looking for just the insert to replace the gold part, not the whole emblem...do you think a rear emblem from a Silverado or avalanche may fit?

SalTahoe,

Not sure if you've already considered it, but I used some flat black plasti-dip on both gold emblems and they turned out great. Just taped around the chrome surrounding trim. A very inexpensive alternative to new emblems. Just a thought anyways, best of luck-

Thx 14LT.....that's exactly what I did...rear emblem came out good. Just waiting for weather to get better to put it back on.

Glad to hear, are you thinking of dipping the front emblem as well?

I actually put the billet emblem on the front. I have the billet emblem for the back but didn't realize it replaces the chrome too, so basically waisted my money

Another option - I bought some very heavy vinyl material on ebay that you put over the existing just over the color portion and use a razor knife to cut. I put it on 18 months ago and it still in great shape.

Very inexpensive.

Exactly what I did. I have the LTZ chrome package so i did both front and back bowties, i plasti dipped the front chrome gills, chrome door handles, chrome back bumper strip, chrome mirrors, chrome door moldings, the rims and all chrome emblems. Im very happy with the evil looking outcome, the truck is black to begin with. I did leave the chrome strip surrounding the back and front bowties so they can still be noticed.

Took mine to the local body shop. They put a few coats of black on them and a few clear coats and they look amazing. Also cheaper then buying the already black ones and will last a lot longer than the pasti dip or vinyl. They also did this without taking them off so no issues in getting the rear emblem back on or it looking like crap. Think I paid 80 for front and back to be done
