I am getting my first car and i'm torn between a tahoe and a silverado. I like suvs WAY more then pickups, however i'm curious as to how capable a tahoe is compared to a silverado. I'm an avid hunter and I would like to go off road so this is important to me. I was wondering if you guys view the tahoe as off road capable. For all the hunters out there I would love to hear your opinions and personal experiences going hunting with tahoes. So would the tahoe be capable enough or should i just get a silverado instead?

I owned a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab with the All Terrain and Z71 Package. The vehicle was solid, had an aluminum block vs iron block in Tahoe, in addition had superior cooling functions with the trans and engine oil cooler, part of the towing package. I can tell you in snow my Sierra did awesome. I was a bit disappointed in off road capability. My z71 Tahoe articulates better for off roading in my opinion based off the 4 link set up vs leaf springs.
