Just replaced all four ball joints and tie rods on my 99 Tahoe 4WD but I still have some clunking from the front left side when I go over bumps. Any ideas what this could be? The only thing I can think of is control arm bushings. Any ideas on how to check for this or other thoughts as to what else it could be?
Thanks

Wheel bearings, Bushings, Idler arm/ pitman arm, steering box. To name a few things, all can be checked pretty easily for play.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Lift that side off the ground and grab the wheel at 12 & 6 O'clock and push back and forth, if there is any play at all up and down (NOT side to side) then you need hub bearings. It is also possible that you need control arm bushings, but you should have been able to tell that with when changing the ball joints.

How are the shocks? You could have a busted shock on that wheel, to check it out, remove the shock from the truck and compress it all the way and see if it extends back out like it should, if it is SUPER slow or doesn't extend back out at all then I would replace all four just to be safe.
