I've got an '07 LTZ...sometimes while sitting at a stoplight with my foot on the brake, I feel a sudden surge or jolt. First time it happened, I thought I was bumped by the car behind me.....my neighbor has an '07 Avalanche that does the same thing sometimes. Has anyone experienced this and had it fixed?

My 2004 did something very similar a few months ago and just needed a software update. The tech said it was a common problem (may be occasional or all the time), the truck never downshifts to first gear, and when the computer realizes that it is in second, you will feel a bang when it shifts down. Hasn't done it since and was covered under factory warranty.

Just looked it up in my records.

"A CUSTOMER STATES THERE IS A THUD FROM THE REAR OF VEHICLE WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHT"

CAUSE: VEHICLE IS NOT DOWNSHIFTING FROM SECOND GEAR

VEHICLE IS NOT DOWNSHIFTING FROM SECOND GEAR. 0.90 INSTALLED UPDATED SOFTWARE. SPS CODE 10C03.

**Maybe that will help you out.

With all of the updates I read about, it almost seems like they should let you bring it in once or twice a year for a free update doesn't it?

Sure does, looking at the same receipt, apparently they updated my Stabilitrak system, too.

CAUSE: YAW SENSOR AND SOFTWARE

YAW SENSOR AND SOFTWARE. 1.90 INSTALLED UPDATED YAW SENSOR AND REPROGRAMMED EBCM WITH UPDATED SOFTWARE.
