Stuck third row seat on 2005 Tahoe

Hi folks is there a trick to getting a third row seat out that seems stuck- I know the normal procedure for removing it (pull up on the "1" lever then move the "2" lever and lift) but my driver side 3rd row seat is still stuck. When I try to lift the seat back lever (marked #1) it doesn't seem to go up very far if at all, almost like it's hitting against something inside the seat. I'm sure I could gorilla the thing out but I don't want to make anything worse than it is in case it's broken already. The passenger one came out easy but not this one. I'm just hoping maybe someone else has had a similar issue and resolved it...
