hey all I see the ltz is pretty popular, and i was in between the ltz and lt2. Im leaning more towards LT2 and this will be my first truck purchase ever so convince me otherwise if you think I need convincing. I originally wanted tahoe bc of its beautiful exterior look but luckily for me I found suv of the year quality. I want to advertise my business on the truck using the popular stickers or what not and most probably purchase rims and thats it to have it stand out. I like having alot of creature comforts (leather, parking assist, remote vehicle starter)so if I get the 2lt and add sun, entrtainment and destination package it would give me all the features i want..navi, bose sysem, rear camera. all I think i would b emissing is the wood grain appearance on the dash (and the 20 inch rims, do not count because why spend extrafor the 20"s when im thinking of adding 22"s or 24"s)

Is my train of thinking right?

*P.S.* Just because ive built my tahoe that way online, does'nt mean the dealer might have them setup that way...which means I might have to have mine ordered? do you think the tahoe lt2 with that package is readly available at most dealerships?

Most of the LT2 packages around my area that are sitting on dealer lots are fairly stripped down with standard seating, basic AM/FM/CD radios, standard wheels, no NAV packages, no Sunroofs, no Rear DVD players. In fact, most of the dealerships have plenty of LT3, LTZ and Z71 models sitting on the their lots for months now, which means it is a "buyer's market" where you can basically name your own price. Alot of the dealers are taking $6000 off the MSRP plus you add any available GM incentives and rebates.

Take the LT2. LTZ is a bit of a too big step in regards of pricing.

Better to take the LT2 and chose the options you really want. If you take them all off course chose the LTZ.

I just bought a LT2 Z71 package with all the options you can possibly get in one. I found mine on the lot at the dealership. Like you said why pay that much more for a LTZ if you are not worried about wood grain and you are going to change rims. Just my opinion let us know what you decide.

The LT2 and LTZ aren't exactly comparable, aside from having leather and being able to get the Nav, DVD, and 20's as options on the LT2.

The LT3 is a more direct comparison to the LTZ, because on top of the LT2's essentially leather based upgrade over the LT1, it adds heat & memory to the seats as well as more and dual adjustments, signal mirrors, and then also allows you to option things like the rear power liftgate and power middle seats. The LT3 can be optioned up like an LTZ, or be built picking and choosing just a few of the extra features.

Otherwise, technically, the LT2/LT3 and LTZ interiors look the same aside from the simple addition of the wood covered cupholder (only LTZ change), and then the difference in seat features.

Are any of these important to you?
-Heated, memory seats with dual power (and more) adjustments
-Turn signal mirrors
-Optional power rear liftgate
-Optional power folding middle seats

Those, and a few other small things, are LT3 specific items--but the model is still below and lower cost than an LTZ.

I looked at the LTZ as an investment. It'll draw more when I sell it privately. I never trade a car in. A family person would more than likely be interested . I have the RSE system which I hope makes it attractive to people with kids. Also, there isnt any "I wish I had " with an LTZ.
As far as the options mentioned above, you would miss them if you had them to begin with. I love the heated seats in the winter and the power gate is great when your hands are full. When you hit the remote start in the winter the seats heat automatically and the heat comes on too, till you turn key and it will resume prior settings. In summer the A/C comes on same way. If you're in a financial position to go for the extra bux........do it!!
Well worth the investment. The majority of the late model Tahoe owners here own LTZ's for a reason.....hope you will too!!

Whichever way you turn it buying a car never is an investment. Once I read in a newspaper to invest in a car. But that was an advertisement. Still loughin...

Yep. You are right. I was referring to new cars. Sorry for overlooking the collectors market.

johnnyBgood is right, its just investment was the wrong word. he is correct that its going to have better resale in the long run with more options, i would consiter an LTZ way before an lt2, and im sure a soccer mom looking for a used truck would buy one with a dvd and nav, plus the folding chairs and power liftgate, that just makes life easier and she will consiter that one before the lt2. so while it may not be an investment , it gets ya more money in the long run, and probably quicker.

so i would go with the LTZ.

I wish I had gotten the LTZ, even though I love my LT2, I couldn't swing the LTZ as I bought in 06 and there were no deals to be had when we got our truck.

BUT A TAHOE IS A TAHOE:cool2: :D

im sure i would be just as happy with mine no matter what options it had.

If you like all the creature comforts, as do I, go for the LTZ if you can afford it. And if you find a dealer that still has 07's on the lot you could probably walk away with a h@%* of a deal. Especially with the price of gas right now. I bought my 07 Z71 in October just after gas prices took a big climb and they gave me almost $11,000 off the sticker just to get it off the lot. The 08's were just coming out which helped too.

As for someone that recently purchased (ordered vehicle), I could only afford the LT2. We got the LT2 package with most options, that we wanted and was $10,000 less than the LTZ packaged, (Denali's) that were on the lot. I forgete the prices now, but I want to say the LTZ package is like $8,500, and you still have to have other options.

Yes, much lower cost, but that's all in the features, etc., many of which cannot be had on a 2LT. The model is, for all intensive purposes, just a 1LT with leather.

Not that it's a bad thing, it's still a luxury truck, but comparing 2LT to LTZ is rather strange. 3LT to LTZ, okay, but otherwise a lot of differences in equipment.

Oh the ebony seats drive me nuts. But I would still rather have the cloth then the leather. I have sat on a few too many black leather seats during a Texas summer. My ass is not very happy with me.
