So I have a 15 Yukon I got in Aug 14. Shortly after I got it I noticed a clicking noise when its idling heard from the outside. Its loud enough that people comment on it and say things like "should it be making that noise?" and "that motor sounds funny." I have taken it to the dealer and asked them during maintenance to check on it and they always say it sounds normal. I don't think its normal and I drive across FL a lot so my bumper to bumper is coming due so I want to get this taken care of soon. I recorded it in a drive through the other day, its really noticeable in drive through cuz the wall reflects the sound right. Here is a link to it on youtube https://youtu.be/82KVHy8hflk

What do y'all think? Im going to take it to the dealer again and get a little more serious with them about it instead of just asking them to check during the scheduled maintenance. If they say its normal again, should I will take to one if the chevy dealers and ask their service departments? Do you think its nothing and I shouldn't worry about it? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 77 Ramcharger which oil levels dropped to a point where the rocker arms made the same sound.
either that or it's a header exhaust leak.

i only hear a mild humming with my car, so that sound is anything but normal

Yeah has to be header exhaust leak. I'm going to have to go back up there and lean on them some more til I get something.

Hi.

I have a 2015 Tahoe. Same noise. Took it to 3 different dealers. One of them Chevy specialist outside of dealership.

The best I got is the direct fuel intake system valves are worn and therefore making a clicking sound. To fix this issue I would have to replace that.

It was explained to me as: "Basically the fuel intake system in these trucks is under heavy pressure and the valves letting the fuel in are not making that noise. "

The dealer says its normal, yet I've been in many other 2015 GMC SUV's to know its not.

I'm in Florida as well and often have people in my vehicle - kind of embarrassing to have to explain why it's making noises it does.

GMC needs to fix this issue.

Oh really? So it really may not be an exhaust leak?
So if they know that it is these valves, do they not want to replace these valves? Why the hell wouldn't they? They know it's abnormal and they get paid by gm warranty why wouldn't they replace it? Sorry for all the ? marks lol.

My 2015 Tahoe has made the clicking noise since I drove it off the lot 25,000 miles ago. Sounds like an old lifter noise but I figure it's normal
