Steering Iues

I am new to this forum, I currently own a 2005 Z71 (owned it since 2007). This is an excellent vehicle and very reliable. My issue is with steering, it wants to wander all over the road. the front end is tight, replaced the steering gear and pitman arm. This helped a little. I started looking at the steering shafts, they look good. I crawled up under the dash and noticed I could turn the steering wheel from the 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock position and nothing moved. Do steering columns wear out? where can I get one? Can I repair? where can I get repair parts?

Get a buddy and have them turn the steering wheel left to right continuously. See if there is play in intermediate shaft.
