static/crackling type noise from above seat

I am getting some noise from the speaker/mic (I don't know what it is) that is above and to the left of the drivers seat. It is about the size of a silver dollar. It started about 2 weeks ago. I have an 08 hoe ltz with 3800 miles. Thanks for any help.

That's a temperature sensor, and I believe the noise you hear is the tiny fan inside the grill going south on you.

That's the front seat microphone above your head. If you're able to hear static/crackling, it's most likely either shorting out or failing in some manner. Warranty item for sure.

I am hearing both of the above answers from others also. I am taking it in Monday morning and will update.

I agree.. It is not the mic for the onstar. Temp senor with a small fan
