I have a Tahoe, I also have a '07 Silverado that I have an issue with and thought I'd throw this out and see if anyone has a clue. I have an '07 Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 engine. I use it for fire department responses and recently installed a new VHF radio that transmits on 154 MHz. The problem or issue that I have is, that when I key up the microphone to talk to the dispatcher, my oil pressure guage drops to zero and the information center says "STOP ENGINE NO OIL PRESSURE". Does anyone have an idea why this occurs or how to resolve it ( other than NOT using my radio ..lol)? I'm sure it still has oil pressure, my concern is what if anything is it doing to any other components on the truck ?? Any GM techs want to tackle this one ?? Thanks in advance !! Dave

I should probably also post that the radio puts out 25 watts on the low setting, which is where it is set, and is mounted on the center console at the bottom of the dashboard, and the antenna is currently mounted on the drivers side front fender right beside the hood hinge.

Any time I want
There are way to many variables here suchas what circuits exactly are yo tap into to have the radio function and operate also you tried relocating and or rerouting the radio circuitry.. the ecm sends the engine oil pressure via high speed GMLAN to the body control module then the BCM sends the engine oil pressure info to the instrument cluster via low speed GMLAN serial data... so what it sounds like to is RFA interference

First...... thanks for the reply. Right now, the radio is running off of a battery that is just sitting under the hood in the drivers side battery space that was empty. But the RF interference....... I do have the excess antenna wire just kinda looped around the inside of the engine compartment, on the drivers side. So, maybe I should try to relocate that wire for starters.
