Well as of today at about 8 pm i handed over the keys to my baby. I sold my 2003 Tahoe LT with 94000 miles for $14,000. I will be driving a Silverado 2500HD Duramax all summer working, trailering, deliveries etc..., then next fall my sister and I are probably going to share a 2007 Tahoe LT up in boulder.

I will miss my My GMT 800, it was a solid vehicle. The GMT 900 is sweet though. My mom has been driving the new hoe for about 20,000 miles (I have driven almost half of those miles on a road trip though). I will look for some mods this fall for the new one. I had an intake, corsa sport, and a wheatley tune on the old hoe and it ran very strong. We will see what the new one can do with some extra juice. Just thought i would share, mostly venting, as i already miss my baby and its only been a few minutes. Not going anywhere just moving up a few years in the scheme of things. Peace

You sound like a dedicated Chevy man, and the 900 series is a step up and trust me you will fall in love with it too, despite the ridicules
gas prices, I love my tank on 4 wheels.

I have already fallen in love. I just took a road trip in my dads 2007 silverado GMT 900 from boulder to Mexico/LA/Vegas and back plus the miles on the new Tahoe i would estimate upwards of 12,000 miles. Im pretty psyched to be drive the D-max this summer too (its a 2004). Those are badass trucks. The 2007 Tahoe has 20 inch wheels so it handle far better than the old tahoe and i love it. Not bad for a near 6000 lb truck. I cant wait, even though up in boulder i wont do much driving except on the weekends. The bike and feet do a much better job, and save $$$$$$. The tahoe will run to the mountains probably 40 or 50 times though in the winter. 5000 to 10000 feet in an hour aint bad.

You know the Silverado and Tahoe share the same platform, which means they both have a nice ride.
despite the insane gas prices, I just love mine and I plan to keep it until it blows up.

Oh yah. The new platform is great. And the extra inches on the silverado are great. The silverado has 17 inch wheels and fat tires so its super smooth. We rolled across the midwest at 95 MPH and it felt like 40. So nice! I could care less about cost (until a certain point ~$5/gal), but the comfort, safety, and most of all fun these trucks provide is great. Most people may not find a huge truck fun to drive, but to each his own. The sound that corsa made on my old tahoe was to die for. I couldn't stay off the pedal, but who cares its worth it. The duramax is fun too, once the turbo spools its pretty quick. I am a truck guy for life. I just hope at my young age i don't see the death of a real truck. These crossovers are great and all, but nothing can ever replace a real ladder frame with a real body and engine.
