Well this light came on again, when I was three hours from home, I pulled the fuse for a min or so and it seems to work okay now, I plan checking the connections this evening first. This is the third time this has happened so I am guessing it may come down to the encoder motor but we will see.
If it is the encoder motor it seems the best way is to shift the transfer case into neutral, is i my understanding that the motor should come in the 'neutral' position?
Alldata talks about indexing the motor does anyone know what that means? Is that just making sure the motor is in neutral?
Alldata also talks about shifting the transfer case into neutral using a crescent wrench if necessary on the shift shaft niot quite sure what they they are talking about there either.
It seems like a pretty straightforward replacement. If everything looks okay with the connections I am tempted to go with AC Delco. Is that a good choice over some of the other brands out there?
Thanks in advance
