There wont be any existing wiring for unit. Headliner will have to come out, you'll need to wire unit to player, a real PIA if ya ask me....!!!

Have not done it

I have not done it. Are you planning on wiring the sound to run to the stereo or just using IR headsets? If you aren't going to run the sound, then you could probably just pull power from the overhead light.
If you are planning on running off the stereo speakers, then you will have to run wire down the drivers side door, behind the dash and into the stereo. Probably a pain, but don't know for sure.

When I had my suburban, it had the factory overhead dvd player and I hated it! If you played it, the sound came out ALL of the speakers, so you couldn't listen to the radio and have the kids listen to the dvd. It also got in the way of the rearview mirror. Those were my 2 gripes about it, but the kids loved it.
