2007 Yukon- When I start the engine in the morning, the cooling fans run at full speed. If I stop the engine, and restart it, they run at a slower speed. Has anyone encountered this problem? The GMC dealer told me he has not had this problem come up, and offered no solution.

When the AC compressor is on, I believe the fans default to high speed, regardless of the engine's water temperature.

When you use the remote start, the truck will evaluate the outside temperature & inside temp and put on the ac or heat, and i imagine will also put on the defrosters if needed. So most of the time the AC Compressor will be triggered when you start the truck.

If you are not using the Remote start, the truck may still do this depending on what you have your HVAC settings on.
.......

Try this to confirm. Shut off the HVAC Controls before shutting the truck off, and then manually start the truck to see if this still happens.

Smoothfrc,

You are right. I started the engine this morning with the a/c off and it did not do it. It's interesting that the GMC dealer was not aware of this.

Thanks

I have many "we could not produce that" stories.... It is sad, but the dealerships typically dont have enough knowledge of the vehicles they service.

When you do find that service center that know's what they are doing..... HOLD ON FOR DEAR LIFE!!! :)
