Retractable Running Boards

I tried this question in the tech forum to no avail, so I shall attempt it here in GD~ :help:

I have an '07 LTZ with the retractable running boards. It seems that whenever it gets very hot (90* and above) the running board on the passenger side will deploy, but not retract. Whenever the temperature drops back down to the 70s/80s it will retract. On occasion the driver side has done the same thing, just not as often. Does anyone have a fix for this problem. TIA.

It probably needs maintenance. Did you have the stealership take a look? I have a 2013 with the retractable running boards "which are pretty cool" but as anything that has a motor and moving parts it's bound to break or wear out.
