Removing Z-71 Body Molding

Has anyone out there tried removing the grey body molding from their ride. Curious if it exposes any thing nasty underneath, and how much of a pain it really is.

I did it to my 06 and you will love it when it's done, but it's a huge pain in the A55!! You will have about 10 holes in the bottom rocker panel, you will have to drill out about 20 rivets, you will have 3 holes on each side of the rear where the molding is. Once you finish that, you'll have to take it to a body shop and get the holes filled. It took me about 4 hours to take all the moldings off mine, and about $300 to get the holes filled.
