If you take the luggage rack off, and then re-insert the screws.. will they go in far enough to seal up the hole and be water-tight?

I've noticed that lots of people have taken the racks off, and I was wondering what you all have done about the holes. I'm not really interested in filling the holes & painting. And I don't want spikes :) (old post reference)

I will probably never use the luggage rack.. but if I ever do need it in the future I want to be able to bolt it back into place and go.

Thanks in advance

Nobody? Is everyone watching the game? :)

Let me know if you have done this, what you did to the holes in the roof.

Don't know about the 04s but my 07 had holes there were closed on the bottom. In otherwords they would not leak with no screws. Pop yours off and look.
