Anyone removed their luggage rack? If so what did it entail? Were there huge holes to be filled in? Please give me some insight.....I have the rails but not the crossbars, so I do see any use in leaving them on if I don't use it.

Thanks in advance for any help.........

You'll leave this behind:

Looks like sh*t unless the holes are filled and with the goofy roofline on these trucks I think the denali or escalade rack with the middle bars removed looks best. Just my opinion tho.

Had some butyl (gum-like black substance) that filled the holes. I think these body style looks way better with a rack, my obs looked killer without one tho.

Just get yourself some set screws with the same thread as the hardware for your rack, when installed they will be pretty much flat except for the allen head insert at the top. That would clean up those holes great, paint them the color of your rig and you probably wont even notice them. Throw some same color RTV on the threads before installing them to prevent any leaks and it will also act as a little bit of locktite.
