Your high current wires for the remote start relays will be at the ignition harness right underneath the steering column. Most of the other wires will be from the bcm, which is the black box underneath the steering column as well. You can grab the tach signal from one of the fuel injectors.

The little black box with the nut on it, where I plugged my brake controller into? Any more info on grabbing the tach off the fuel injector. Also I read alot about how important the "second ignition" wire is any info on that

When you remove the driver knee bolster cover, you will see a black box with 3 plugs (00-02 models), directly underneath the steering column. This is the BCM (body control module), where you can catch most of your wires, such as lights, individual door, liftgate, and hood triggers, etc.
Each fuel injector will have a plug with two wires. One wire will be the same color on all injectors. The different colored wire will be the one you want to splice into for your tach signal. You can use any one of the injectors. Its important to solder all your connections if possible, especially the tach signal.
You need to splice into the second ignition wire for the remote start. Depending on the alarm system, you may or may not need to use a relay. This wires needs to be energized while running or it will throw a SES light.

Besides trouble codes and engine lights, a lot of times the second ignition wire is also for running the heater motor along with various other accessories. If you know it going to be cold the next morning you’ll want to leave your fans on high when exiting the truck, the night before. Definiely want to make sure they turn on while remote started.

Something else to think about if yours has the truck pop option…. Obviously we don’t have trunks..... I wired the trigger for that function to turn on the heated seat.
